But for this, you have to prepare the following documents before applying:

• Bring a birth certificate for the kid and your own ID card with a 13-digit barcode.
• If haven’t, provide proof showing you have submitted an application to the Department of Home Affairs for a birth certificate or identification card.
• If you don’t have legal parental rights to a kid, you must provide a letter or affidavit from the child’s biological parent.
• Proof of any child support payments you may receive for clarification.
• Proof of your annual income (both as a single or couple).
• Your marriage license or certificate (if applicable).
• Provide a decree from the court granting you custody of the kid in the case of a divorce.
• Provide the death or missing certificate if either parent has died or missing.
• Fill out the form in the appearance of an authorized SASSA representative.
• Keep the application receipt as proof.
